WATER TREAT

Tasmania Limited’s new technology removes harmful metals and other contaminants from the source, allowing the water to be reused or released into local water streams.

Our multiple approaches to water treatment allow us to treat acid mine water, leachate water, and other contaminated water.

We can build small portable units which can be set up at all water sources and convert the contaminated water into potable water.

Tasmania MCEP

The reactive process begins with air being blown to the bottom of the tank which thrusts particles upwards through the water. In an acidic condition, these particles absorb the various metal ions in the water.

The water is then directed to another tank and the pH is increased to 8.0; the effect of this is that all the metal particles will fall to the bottom of the tank with a reaction time of 30 minutes. During this process the COD (chemical oxygen demand) removal rate is 95%, colour removal rate is 95% and the heavy metal removal rate is 99%. The catalysts involved in this process need only be changed once a year thus providing a process which is vastly superior to other types of water treatment maintenance.

Tasmania has successfully treated Acid Mine Water, Leachate Water and other water containing heavy metals, the resulting water will be clear and the heavy metals below the National Standards.
